I believe that hope and healing can be found, even in places of great pain. I draw on attachment and psychoanalytic theory to help individuals better understand themselves at a deeper level and how their past experiences influence their current relationships. I focus on the whole person and try to understand what is being communicated through the behaviors, not just focusing on the symptoms. I aspire to build a therapeutic relationship in which my patients feel authentic, understood, and validated.

Life can take many twists and turns, often throwing us off-balance. I believe that we were created as relational beings. As such, I believe that our past experiences and relationships help develop our current worldview and the filter through which we experience life. I seek to draw from attachment and psychodynamic theory to help make the connections between past and present more accessible and help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your current circumstances.

My goal for the counseling environment is for this to be a safe place for you to share and work through your story. I believe in the concept that each and every person that we encounter has a story that has impacted them in some way. It takes courage to be vulnerable and fully commit to the counseling process, but you will find that it is worth the clarity and relief you will take away from it. My goal as a counselor is to connect with you, give you the space you need to share your story, and help you achieve your goals.

Every individual is unique and their story matters. I believe when children feel heard and understood, they can begin to deal with the reality of their situation, however difficult it may be, and move toward healing. Children are resilient and capable, though they sometimes don't realize it. My role as a counselor would be to walk alongside a child as well as their family and provide them the support they need to find the strength within themselves to thrive.
